Overlooking the city of Liverpool, the Rutherford Cancer Centre North West has been constructed as part of the city's exciting Knowledge Quarter development, situated close to both the university and hospital. The centre opened in 2020 and provides specialist treatments and facilities, offering cancer patients access to MR-linac radiotherapy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, along with MRI & CT diagnostic imaging services. Proton beam therapy is scheduled to be available in 2022.

Rutherford Breast Clinic - North West

Our Triple Assessment Breast Clinic at the Rutherford Cancer Centre North West provides fast-tracked diagnostic investigations and results. The one-stop clinic allows fast access for patients who have noticed recent changes in their breast such as a breast lump, nipple discharge or inversion, breast pain.  We ensure you get access to scans and treatment options, with a quick turnaround time as little as 48 hours.

Rutherford GP Clinic - North West

Our GP Clinic offers a quick and convenient private GP service and is based at the Rutherford Cancer Centre North West in Liverpool. This service is available to adults that are in need of speedy appointments for any health and wellness concerns, second opinions and specialist referrals. We welcome patients on a one-off basis or those looking for regular health checkups. We can offer assistance with general health checks, sexual health screening or general concerns regarding your health.

The Rutherford Cancer Centres and Elekta are bringing the next generation of personalised adaptive radiotherapy technology to oncology centres across the UK, with the new MR-linac Elekta Unity available at the Rutherford Cancer Centre North West in Liverpool.

The Elekta Unity is a state-of-the-art MR-linac that is setting a new standard for personalised radiotherapy. Elekta Unity provides the ability to reshape the treatment dose based on daily changes in shape, size and position of the tumour and surrounding healthy anatomy and then enables accurate dose delivery with real-time visualisation of the tumour.

Integrating MR (magnetic resonance) with precision RT (radiotherapy) makes it possible to see the target tumour and soft tissue during treatment. This intelligent and pioneering technology will enable real-time visual tracking meaning that treatment adaption is possible at the same time when treating cancer patients. Ensuring that every patient's treatment is adapted to their personalised real-time status.

Rutherford Cancer Centre Thames Valley

Rutherford Cancer Centre Thames Valley opened in Reading in 2018 and is in the newly-built Thames Valley Science Park. The centre has proton therapy available for patients and is also open for those requiring radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging, chemotherapy and supportive cancer care.
