Home Clinics at the Rutherford Bupa Health Centres

Bupa Health Centres at the Rutherford

Your feel good journey starts here. At the Rutherford, we are working in partnership with Bupa to provide health assessments designed to give you a clear picture of your current health, while identifying potential health risks.

A health assessment is a preventative health check that uses medical and non-invasive tests to give a current health and wellbeing overview. Health advisers can discuss any specific health concerns you may have. If needed, the team can also arrange follow-up appointments or private GP referrals for further treatment or diagnostic tests too.

As part of your health assessment, you’ll benefit from health and wellbeing support from Bupa to help you achieve your long-term health and fitness goals. Anyone is welcome to book a health assessment – you don’t even have to be an existing Bupa member.

Why have a Bupa health assessment?

Perhaps you already have a worry and you just want to talk it through, without feeling rushed. You might be anxious about any possible hereditary conditions. Or maybe you don’t have any specific concerns but you’d still like to know how you’re doing. Whatever your reasons, a Bupa health assessment at the Rutherford could help you make the right decisions to protect or improve your health.

Bupa health assessments involve so much more than just a check-up. The team can provide the motivation and support you need to make the lifestyle changes you want. Even better, you can choose to have your health assessment done in one of the Bupa Health Centres based at the Rutherford.

Bupa offers the choice of five health assessments, which vary according to your needs, your goals, and where you want to have your health assessment.

The Bupa health assessment experience

Your health assessment includes Bupa staying with you for a full year. Using what is discovered before and during your appointment, Bupa will tailor a 12-month plan of personalised support, helping you to make lasting changes.

Before your health assessment:
You will be asked to complete a physical and mental health questionnaire either online or via the Bupa Be.Me app. If you can’t complete it digitally, please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment so you can fill in a paper version. Avoid a heavy meal before your appointment, but do drink plenty of water (and no caffeine for three hours beforehand). If you’re on medication, keep taking it. Wear comfortable clothes in case you are asked to do some gentle stretching. Please plan for any childcare, as there are no facilities for under-18s.

During your health assessment:
You will have been emailed in advance to let you know what will happen on the day, what time to arrive, and what to bring with you. That way, you’ll know what to expect and you’ll feel more relaxed. If you’re paying for your health assessment yourself, payment will be taken on the day via cash or card.

After your health assessment:
You’ll receive your personal health and wellbeing plan report via the secure online Bupa portal. Over the following 12 months you’ll also have access to:

  • Two follow-up coaching calls
  • The Bupa Be.Me app
  • Health information and videos tailored to you
  • Calls to a Bupa nurse via the Bupa 24/7 Anytime HealthLine
  • Access to online mental wellbeing programmes provided by SilverCloud
