Proton beam therapy is an advanced form of external radiotherapy that uses high-energy proton beams instead of photon x-ray beams or electrons. Carefully measured doses of protons are delivered to the precise area needing treatment, using the latest IBA ProteusONE technology. This ensures that the delivery of proton beam therapy is highly accurate and prevents the risk of radiation reaching surrounding healthy tissue.
Radiotherapy is used to kill and destroy cancer cells. Dr Ashok Katti has been a Consultant Radiologist at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust since Feb 2008, with a special interest in Oncology Imaging and Hepatobiliary and Gastrointestinal and Abdo/pelvic Radiology.
Dr Ashok Katti is academically active and has published several publications and delivered lectures at National and International conferences and has conducted several teaching courses and workshops. They are the lead Radiologist for Hepatobiliary cancer MDT meetings and have held Managerial roles including Clinical Director for Radiology. Dr Ashok Katti is involved in producing guidelines and protocols for Oncology Imaging.
