Biography

Mr Shashank Chitgopkar is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Rutherford Cancer Centre North West. His main area of work is adult degenerative spinal surgery from the cervical spine to the coccyx, and on-call work involving spinal trauma and tumours.

Mr Shashank Chitgopkar is an honorary senior lecturer at the Edge Hill University of Liverpool and the Lead for its MCh in Spinal Surgery training programme. He has completed six years of specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the Mersey rotation and has been awarded his CCT. Mr Shashank Chitgopkar is trained in spinal surgery with fellowships at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic hospital in Oswestry, Alder Hey children’s hospital, and Hope & Manchester Children’s hospital.
