More about our guest speakers:

Mr Chris Blick – Consultant Urological Surgeon

Mr Christopher Blick is a highly-skilled consultant urologist based in Reading. Christopher Blick specialises in urological cancers, particularly laparoscopic and robotic renal and bladder surgery and is the UK representative at the Board of the European Association of Urology.

His team has the world’s most extensive experience of robotic renal and bladder surgery having carried out over 13,000 procedures. At this event, he will be speaking about how to spot the signs of prostate cancer and the cutting-edge treatments that are now available to patients.

Boston Scientific – SpaceOAR

Creating a little space before prostate radiation can make a BIG difference following treatment. In a clinical study, SpaceOAR Hydrogel was shown to help minimise the impact on urinary, sexual and bowel quality of life for prostate cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.

By pushing the prostate away from the rectum, the radiation dose delivered to the rectum is reduced, which may lessen damage to the rectum and surrounding areas. With SpaceOAR Hydrogel in place, a doctor can complement the patient’s radiation treatment to better target their cancer while preserving healthy tissue to help maintain quality of life.
